don't beat yourself up, part 2

I started this list earlier this month or something & got a lot of things crossed off. So I thought I'd continue doing it. The orange is from the last list and for whatever reason didn't do those, then purple is today. Red is forever.

I think this was a rough morning. The Boy3 was fine and got dressed mostly, he started his morning off by making a pitcher of hot-chocolate. That's okay. He measured the powder into a large measuring cup and then he somewhat figured out how to use the Keurig for his hot water and then I got up to help him. I poured some cold cereal and Boy2 was out in left field already. Part of the problem was me. I really should have stuck the laundry in the dryer much earlier, like last night. Then the rest of the problem was they kept opening the dryer up to see if the pants were done. I think that makes it take longer.

It was tantrum time, because his available pants didn't fit. We can't actually wear the available clothing. It has to be the ones we had in mind. I'm the same way, so realistically speaking, it's not like I can complain. Nothing seemed right but the ones in the dryer.

Then no socks.
Then I had to remind him 80-billion times.

This is the same kid that on other days is perfectly fine to dress himself with no reminders. Not To Day.

Finally after doing whatever I had to do, I walked in the living room and shut the TV off, dude, you have to finish getting dressed! Well there was pouting and slamming and geesh.

B3 got ready to go because It's Time To Go Now! and I told B2 "I am going to leave." Locked the door, walked out and shut it. Walked down the stairs w/ B3 and we could hear his brother going ballistic. It was great. He was hooting and hollering so loud I could hear him from outside on the deck. The other two of us walked out to the garage, got in the van, and C. said "Is he even going to come with us?"

Well that was my bet. I bet he shapes up and puts on his shoes socks and coat if I just make it clear I'm not waiting anymore. And he did. By the time I had the car backed out of the garage he was walking down to the car with big gigantic tears all down his red little face. He got in the car and we went to school. I came home and waited for the dryer to finish, and at 9something I brought his other pants over to the school and we traded. His birthday is tomorrow. I know he wanted me to be there on his actual birthday so maybe part of his emotional upheaval is that. Who knows.

I went to my studio and got my work from the student show. I worked on the ovary painting. I'm not sure how that is going to turn out. I also put a clear acrylic sealer over the polkadotted one. It is now incredibly shiny and I'm going to add 2 more coats, which will be luminous. I worked for about 4 hours and came home exhausted.
