something wonderful is going to happen

busy weekend

Posting it again because I love it so much - I wish I could get it to print as shiny and beautiful as the actual painted paper I used... I took a photo of a project I did to teach in Ed.300... then I used Paint to cut and paste bits of the image into a digital collage. Yay. I was listening to a Ben Harper song and he sang this part that included something about your love's the warmest place the sun ever shines.

We did Valentines yesterday. Also I took Mr. C. to a party which I totally blew. The party was from 3:45-5:45 and I somehow became convinced the party was from 5:30-7:30 ... which made us wonder what exactly am I missing that really is from 5:30-7:30? He had a card with the date and time on it, but he lost it. Or I lost it. So I did bring him. He got to play for fifteen minutes. The dad said the play-place was such a hit nobody even ate any of the cupcakes or pizza. Or even unwrapped presents. I guess other than playing he didn't miss much. He's having great fun this morning with the balloon he brought home. And the kitty is playing with him. She likes him because he's nice to her.

It was okay though. It was fun to hang out with two of my favorite guys for a while last night. J & I grabbed a happy meal for him, then we went home and had some dinner here, then ran out to Target. Then we came home. This morning we made some pancakes. J. went to work early of course. He called me a while ago and told me he got the fire truck stuck in the snow. I love the image of the fire truck stuck in the snow! He said it wasn't fun though, they had to shovel. It coulda happened to anybody I guess. Hard to believe you could get a fire truck stuck.

It has been snowing for two days. It looks sunny outside right now. 10:38 AM and 16 degrees F.

Traveled Friday to Omaha for annoying business. Poor J. ...  I enjoyed the trip of course but he was pretty mad about the reason we had to go down there.

I had a wonderful day Thursday too. I lost my textbook (it was under the bed,  we found it Friday when we put the new-to-me bedframe W's mom gave me.) so I went to the library early so I could find someone with the book and do my assignment before the 12:45 class. Someone I'm in 2 classes with, about my age with 2 little girls was sitting in the library and I borrowed her book and we chatted. Then we got an e-mail about the campus event for the day was Build-A-Bear (sort-of), so we decided to take a break and do that. I made a frog for L's birthday since he doesn't have a Build-A-Bear and always wants one when he realizes (sometimes he forgets) that C. has one and he doesn't. I still think I'm bringing him to get one for his b-day. But the frog was so cute. The guy running the machine to fill the animals was this huge man. I went up to get my frog stuffed... after a controversial hour where actual paid members of the college administration cut in line and got their stuffed things stuffed, in broad daylight. Right in front of us. Us. It made us grouchy. We, the people who aren't paid, waiting here in line, patiently, we see you cutting in line to stuff your sheep and cat. Anyway we thought that wasn't such a good example. The man stuffing the animals looked like he could use a beer. Every once in a while the tube shooting stuffing into the animal's body would puff fluffy white stuff up into his face. Then it would hang up on his belly. Or the stuffing machine would hang up. It needed refilling. I told him "Well, at least you don't have to wear a silly animal suit!" and he said (of course he did!) "Oh I dunno, I'd maybe kinda LIKE to wear a silly suit!" Oh great. Sure you would.

I'm doing a powerpoint about Eric Carle for my elementary art ed. class. I'm starting to like it. I'm very happy that I'm almost half finished with all the practicum hours. I only have twenty hours total this semester, in two different schools, not counting the 5 hours observing in a third school. I hope I get it done ASAP so I can paint the rest of the semester. My planning is getting a little better.
