Today we went out to the river to bring somebody a present and got to walk in some interesting spots & drove past the riverboat casino. The ramp leading from the ground to the riverboat is so slanted upward they have installed stairs. You must now climb stairs to get into the casino.

In the background of this other photo, somewhat to the right of the central clump of trees, above the thing which is a sidewalk, is a thing that is a gazebo, which is on a hill, which is underwater.
It was fun to get to walk around out there. I did slip on some mud and stub my toe on the flat cement because I was wearing flip flops. We weren't really supposed to be out there but it was okay, I was told if anyone came up to me I was a member of the press. So I suppose essentially I was interviewing them for my blog, right? Sure. I learned a lot about the pumps they're using to pump water back over the levees. I learned some of the trees need to be cut down because they have shallow roots and when the wind blows, the trees they built the levees around shake up the dirt and stuff. I learned that some of the levees will be left alone and grass has been planted on one side already, even though typically the river is really quite far away from the spot we were walking. Like, across a parking lot, a wide stretch of ground, and down the hill from where we were.
