a little of this
It was fun. At one point I think I had about 20 tabs open in Firefox, looking at different stuff. I find something cool, then on that same page I find something else cool I need to visit. I have been antsy all day. I want to make something new and I don't know what it is yet.
We did make these things, some day last week, marker + rubbing alcohol tie-dye. Somehow our trademark skull got in there.
They looked really beautiful before I washed them. I guess Tide really does kick ass in the ink removing department. They're really quite pale now, which is okay, the boyzies are just going to probably use them for p.j.s anyway...especially the one with the heart above. Noboy wears a bright orange heart on his tee to school and gets away with it. But it does look neat. I tried to write their school name on too but that was in Prismacolor blue and no such luck. Sharpie would have worked. Ah so much stuff I could do, so little funds! Even if Hanes undershirts are cheap! I should make them some little sleeping pants out of those brown tees J. brought me. I never thought to iron them or whatever, so now they're sort of paler than this. Maybe it was my choice of pens. Sharpies were the prescribed ink of choice, but I used some Prismacolor markers I have. I've had them forever and they really bled nicely, but I wonder if that's why they were less than permanent? I should buy a large variety of technicolor Sharpies, I guess. We did have a red, pink, orange and black Sharpie, and actually used those the most, so I dunno. Ironing them would be smart.
The black skull didn't spread much when he added the alcohol, of which I am glad!
J. has been making the rounds of coffee shops (he's a frequent coffee shop stopper, sheesh I make mine at home!) and discussing my "stuff" with the owners. So far I think three different places have been forewarned I'm looking to put work in their shops. Now, what should I do? He's talking I should put sample reverse applique teeshirts, framed between two panes of glass, and a little business card holder. But I just don't see it doing well hanging on a coffee shop wall. Maybe a teensy one?
Wow I have thought so much lately. I want to make a list of all the things I want that really I do not need. For some reason I think it would make me happy just to have them on paper. Like, I would love to go get a bunch of new teeshirts like that black one I can't find, and then put new designs on them and wear them to class. I would love to buy a big covered glass jar to put my terrarium in because this tiny one sort of sucks (J. has one I think I could have, he keeps his matchbook collection in there...because what else would firemen collect?) I do have a fish tank. I would also love to buy a small mammal to keep in that tank though. Like a really big friendly hamster. Only, my cat would terrorize it and sit by the tank and yowl the way she does when she finds the baby crickets. First they lose a leg, and I don't hear about it till they're pretty much incapacitated, then she meowls and I get up thinking she's sick, and there's the baby cricket I have to catch and throw down the stairs. That's okay though because without the kiddycat, they'd be up here singing their annoying baby cricket songs all night. How do they climb stairs anyway? Did they hatch up here? We never have big crickets. Just these teensy ones.
I found these upside down planters today too online. I want some but they're too expensive. I think I can make them myself though, just a matter of knowing how to do it, and I know how. Because I can't have plants because the cat will eat them and puke them all over my bed.
