rainstorm

blackbird snowyday
Wainwright 2010

I found myself alone with children and baseball tickets. We ventured forth into the storm, wishing finally to have stayed home! Instead of baseball we went to make some groceries. I have never been as quickly watersoaked as I was today in the time it took to walk out to the parking lot. Trees were falling down. In the end the rainbows came out to taunt my crappy camera. The sky really was that color. Pretty creepy.

Later we got this color sky, but not really. Once again my camera plays tricks on me. I like it that way though.
I like it this way because if you invert the colors, the blackbird appears on a very beautifully snowy day. (The whiteboard bird really is just a big print, cut out and stuck to the window for inspiration.)

The Blackbird on a snowy day is a brilliant piece of work.

I love it. And my daughter calls me an art snob.

I love the sky after it's been washed.
