I made this mask out of the side of a milk jug. The bridge of the nose is the handle. It ate something feathery.
I absolutely love my Elementary Art Methods class. I still don't think I want to teach elementary students though.
This one is the tree with snow on it. All the snow seems to be reaching it's melting point around here. We had rain all day. We ran down to Omaha for a minute this afternoon and it rained all the way back up. Ugh and I have a cold. Well I think I will not elaborate on these works of fantabulous art tonight. Maybe a little.
Geogres Rouault was originally a stained glass apprentice and became a painter later. His images show a strong leaning towards the stained glass imagery he knew, the figures are outlined in dark lines.
Here is The Old King.
I don't like clowns because I can't figure out what they're hiding. The assignment was to make a clown similar to a Rouault clown.
I think this was Heads of Young Clowns or something. I liked this color scheme. One of the things about Rouault was the noses seemed to come straight down from the eyebros and were boxy at the tips of the nose. I made mine different, the nose on my clown is more like my own nose.
I had an exciting project yesterday night in this class, it was a clay bank. Sort of a piggy bank. I made something I loved. I kept saying it was a robot but I was thinking about it on the way back from Omaha and remembered it does have sort of human feet. So I'm not sure now. Once it is fired I'll post a photo and decide from there.
Oh and I found this the other day, just had to throw this in. Daddy drove me out to this cemetery somewhere out in South Arkansas or Extreme North Louisiana in the mid-90s because I wanted to take pictures of headstones. Because that is a cliche I cannot avoid. I love them. I think the light is magical in this photograph. This is straight out of the camera. On film no less. Truly beautiful light. I was lucky that day.
