messianic complex?

Today was my meeting, off schedule, with my painting instructor. Usually we meet on Thursdays. We discussed the way I answered the questions she had for the book she had me read. We talked about how as artists we have a messianic complex, which she described to me as being necessary. We need to paint the work we make, nobody else is going to be able to do it. The paintings must be made.

Speaking of which I should take some photos of the ovary painting. It's coming along nicely. That's an example of one that had to be made.

It was interesting to discuss the need for selfishness. It made some sense, I've wrestled with the selfishness. I absolutely must spend time looking around for ideas and things to use to make more artwork. I spend enough time doing it that I'm not altogether sure I spend enough time doing mommy stuff. Tomorrow I have that wrapped up though. Tomorrow I'm painting kitty faces on kindergartners.
