The punkin is bigger than me...

This may be boring to some people but I love documenting things with photographs. The painting in the bottom slide show is 5' x 3'. Mrs. McGaffin saw it yesterday and was all excited, as was I. The scale of the thing is so interesting for me. Like she said, at that scale, you can no longer own it.

My sissa is posting workout updates, I think that's a great idea. I printed the coupon from the "walk" indoors website. I think it will be fun. I have lost 10 lbs since Dec. 30. Fifteen if you count the fact that I was about five lbs. up or down on a few days.

My saving grace has been The Four Day Win by Dr. Martha Beck. It was so interesting to go through the activities and thoughtful parts and end up with an entirely different perspective on food. Once you realize your inner Dicator (the one that makes you want to starve yourself so you can be skinny and beautiful) and your inner Wild Child (the one that refuses to starve because the prehistoric origin of the Wild Child in your brain made it all this way, still intact in your brain, and isn't about to let you give up and die just because there appears to be a famine (because you aren't eating enough!)) Um, did I get off track in the parenthesis? The Dictator and Wild Child aren't you.

Martha Beck teaches us to recognize that. The catch is, you must understand they do have your best interests at heart, so you must watch them, wish them well, and achieve a very interesting mind set. Which is what I did. I am honestly rarely hungry any more. Unless I just didn't eat all day. I do find myself freaking out sometimes if they boys are acting crazy having just got home from a 5 day stretch at their dads'. But since I read that book, the crazy eating habits I've been prone to since 6th grade have diminished greatly.

I can pick up a slice of pizza, take a bite, and just put it down. For good. It doesn't kill me to throw away food now. It isn't a situation where I'm going to get a spanking or a dirty look for not eating everything on my plate. Never again. I know if I exercised more I'd be losing weight way faster, because my relationship with food has changed so greatly.

Lucky for me, the weather is now beautiful. J. & I walked over to pick up the Cheezits from school and walked back, which is approximately a mile. The weather is so gorgeous I plan to walk to class from now on as well, since there's enough time to take people to school, come home, get a shower, and walk to class each day. We also played ball after school, which was great and I realized when I went upstairs to make dinner, wow, that was a good little workout!

I'm teaching a lesson on the 29th. I think it seems weird to spend a whole class period teaching a lesson to two of my classmates. On something like drawing or ceramics. Because we're all "art majors" so 50 minutes seems like a waste of time. Is he observing to see how we can teach? I really don't see how me standing up in front of two college art ed majors is going to tell him anything about my talent as a teacher.

Soon I will post some photos Logie took. Rainman photos probably. J. ordered a Lego camera for him in Feb. for his birthday but it was out of stock, so finally the thing arrived Monday and he got it today. That was one happy boy! The first thing he did was take pictures of J. Then he took a picture of everyone's bedroom. I am not sure why.  So my next idea is, take the boys on a walk somewhere to shoot interesting stuff. C. will have to use mine. I have I's too, but he took it to his dads' one day and came back without the cord for the charger. Cord for charger is a stupid idea and the Olympus camera making people suck. I also want to get the poor Canon running again. I figure if I can take pictures with it, even if the screen died, it still took better pictures than anything else I've ever used. Seriously the year or so I used it was my happiest digital camera year.

You can build on to the thing, too. I thought that was a great idea, like a lego tripod. The main features are a flash and a trash-it button, a playback. It charges from the computer USB port. Pretty sweet.

Ooh, also, what should I do with this:
