About grandparents and kids on vacation, believe me, I do understand that concept. I was a child once and my grandparents took me on vacation many summers, it was wonderful and they were good people.
These people, though, I have known these people for years and people do not change. I used to sit at the holiday dinner table and roll my eyes at the way they talked about other people in their family. Therefore, I believe it when I hear grandma talks about suing me for custody at the dinner table when my kids are there. The grandmother asked the uncle (a lawyer) to look at my ex-husband's divorce decree to see if he could find some ways for them to get custody of my kids. My son, age 15 used those exact words when he told me about that little conversation.
Delightful.
How can I put a positive spin on that?

ouch. yeah, I get it. I was trying to go Pollyanna on ya. I guess that isn't going to work with this group is it? Sigh.
