something wonderful is going to happen

time passes so slowly

It is good to blog outside.

The birds are so noisy all day.
The sky is varying shades (or hues? – shouldn’t I know which?) of grey and the breeze is nice. My wine is catching up with me. One glass. Get-ting sleep-py.

An enormous tree covers up my view the blue house across the street from my deck chair. In the winter it is just bare bones. In summer, the one single tree takes up the entire yard. I envision the roots extending down beyond the pipes and sewer. Do the roots take up the same amount of room beneath the street as the branches take up sky?

The little boys are playing outside with their neighbor friends. The littlest arrived at my feet a minute ago to ask if he could attend their mom’s birthday party. This is a Saturday party and regrettably, they will be at their father’s house. Alternatively, they will be where ever he decides to put them when he does whatever it is he does. I do not particularly care what he does outside his relationship with my children, only that he does not seem to have an actual relationship with my children. They expect it. Therefore, I care about that part.

The littlest one is back again discussing his popped bike tire. I warned him day before yesterday that if they skidded the tires, the result would be a flat tire. This was unimportant to him at the time. Now he’s upset the neighbors won’t let him ride their bikes. Or their go-cart. Oh and I should please tie his shoes. Nevermind he’s perfectly able to tie his own shoes. Nothin’ like a mamma tying them when you’re feeling blue about your bike tire.

My oldest called 30 minutes ago to say he, “found out” he was late. This is because I wrote it on his Facebook wall. How weird is that? I might be a lazy mother. I might be a hip, tech savvy mother. It might be possible I am both. Probably not the hip part. Or the savvy part. He said he’d be home at 7 but it is now 7 after 7. Fabulous. Great.

Since they have all decided finally to congregate, I suppose I should feed them.
