I would make a big deal about J's service to our country but he is very modest and self deprecating and would say, "Oh you are too kind." or something like that." - yesterday!
Then my children were unceremoniously picked up by one of their family members.
So instead of blogging or doing much productive, other than throwing a load of laundry in the dryer, I spent the entire day lounging about watching somewhat meaningful TV with my verra favorite veteran over at his house ... we watched other veterans go to places they served in WWII, we watched The Simpsons, we watched The Office, we watched a documentary on the CCC (I personally have traveled roads built by the CCC, I can vouch for their road building expertise!) We watched all number of other things. Oh we saw some hockey. That's pretty much all we did yesterday. A spider landed on my arm which caused me to squeal in his ear and sweep the spider off my arm and onto a couch cushion. It stayed there so I guess it was dead. We don't spend a lot of time at his house. Nice quiet place for the spiders. I didn't sleep well last night.
This morning already we have dropped the truck off at a garage to see what the heck that noise is in the rear end, dropped J. off at the dentist. I was going to go in with him but he sort of dismissed me saying he'd call when he's done. Fine. So I'll go feed the cat, I told him.

Isn't it nice to have a day where you can just lay around and mentally regroup? It poured here yesterday and I did the same. Well, I did laundry and ironed too--does that count? It was nice to chill for a change.
I good relaxing and regrouping day is good for everyone. Although I cannot for the life of me imagine being relaxed after a spider had landed on my arm and is somewhere still on the couch. These kinds of emergencies require immediate action where hubby had better find the spider carcass or I may have to burn the couch.
