bib, baby birdie, and a new bag

Okay so today I started on a new bag. I haven't decided on the closure.but the bag itself is done. The straps are very very long. I can't do the rolled stitched roses yet... so that is the goal. Every button I've tried with it seems really old-fashioned. So I'm thinking there have to be some details I could add to add to this bag to make it fun. Maybe a whole row of those roses around the yoke.

The baby birdie in the bucket was the first to fall down the attic stairs which end up behind my refrigerator. I got so bored with fetching baby birds out last summer. First I have to move a little cabinet, and then the stove, and then finally the refrigerator before I can get to the attic door. This summer I know there was this one, another seemed sort of close to the inside of the attic versus where-ever the mother bird put the nest. I don't know. I plunked him down on the bushes outside and he flopped off and ended up under my deck, I think. Ugh. They're such a pain.

At the very top is one of the baby bibs I sewed up yesterday. The doggie is supposed to be a pink polkadot Dalmatian. I was using the pink polkadot flannel as the front part of the bib but this one was cut from a Hanes undershirt, and it was much nicer. By nicer I mean both for softness and to sew. The flannel was sort of thick.

I hate baby bird season--it is just full of saving birds, dead birds, and keeping 2 very unhappy kitties indoors. Ugh.

I love that bag. I want to get on the Lauren bag list. Can't you have a contest that I could win or something?
