The idea was...mommmmmmyyyyy.... paint the design on the Spiderman backpack. So the friends don't laugh at the Spiderman. It's a skull now. He designed it himself (as seen here) and I embellished a little, I guess, with the flames, but this was necessary because in that background part was a grey spider figure, which I first covered over in grey paint. But later realized the spiderstuff was showing thru the acrylic paint. I shoulda gessoed the thing first, but that stuff's all at my studio, and there's rumors that place gets real stinky in the summertime. I also hope the paint does not chip and crack off. No telling. Maybe I should seal it with Mod Podge!! First it needs to dry though. J. came over for some reason, I guess to visit... or to make microwave nachos and complain about my fat-free cheese... late this evening and sat around my kitchen table till after midnight-ish, directing the flame traffic. He is very good at suggesting I stop. Or add more. Or don't forget that spot over there. Not only is he a fire man, he's also a motorcycle man (possibly the most genteel one ever - keeping in mind being the most genteel one "ever" does not preclude certain bonafide behaviors, just assures us he does indeed know better and is just occasionally choosing to be that way... that man crudeness ... but I think it's funny.) So he knows all about that flame thang.
Speaking of which, (man crudeness) I can totally hear my oldest in his room, belching at the top of his lungs (must have snuck another Coke from the fridge... remind me why I bought those? because I need a caffeine-wired 14 year old? He's also mimicing Golem (or something), and listening to his music.
In other news I put the third and final (?) (hopefully?) coat of Valspar on J's front garage door this afternoon (why does that take me two hours a pop? that's six freakin' hours on a garage door) and the mosquitoes finally left me alone at around 3:30 when I ran out of blood.
Lauren Lauren she's our man,

My kitchen needs painting since you are feeling so very inspired. I also have hankering for a mural on my wall of my back porch.
Thanks so much...
