Would be better if I hadn't pulled something or pinched a nerve battling my youngest playing Mortal Kombat. Apparently whacking one's child with the controller is against the rules even if his creepy character did just put the smack-down on his mom's creepy character, encasing her head in a green glowing orb of electrical power, spearing with meat hooks and generally causing bodily harm and copious blood loss. I am still suffering from the bad karma associated with a.) playing violent video games, and b.) smacking my child because he threw the razor sharpened hat of doom at my character. My neck is sending shooting nerve tingles down my arm and into my fingers. And yes, I took something.
On Saturday morning I went over to Barts and got the boys, and we went to a local lake to listen to a DNR sponsored talk by the local Conservation Officer on duck calling, hunting, how to put out a duck blind, and ID of different types of ducks. J. was working so our friend Red brought us. Red does not have red hair, he actually looks like Santa Claus. He was going to bring the guys by himself but I wanted to go too. He felt happy about that and probably relieved because well, he was taking my children and by evening, which is generally when he sees them, they can be a handful. Little did he know, it was morning so they'd just taken their ADHD meds. We did this from 10-12, then I brought the guys back to their dad's, and went to work. I worked Sunday & Monday too, one of the babies cried the entire time.
I meant to write this earlier. Bleh
So Monday since I was all alone, (J. is away for a fire chief thingy and the big guy is at drivers ed and the little kids are at their grandparents for "dad day") I decided to list all the things I did so I wouldn't feel like such a failure.
I did kitty litter, organized recycling, took a walk, took a shower, fetched crock pot, 2 coats, 3 games and a water bottle from neighbors, baked 5 lbs of turkey breakfast "sausage" to freeze for numerous future meals, made mental note to add more spices in future, processed 3 loads of laundry, put away everything I folded, ate healthy food, drank 9+ cups of water, re-decorated living room with open flat spaces where cat likes to jump from spot to spot (less likely to break things) and re-positioned TV and stereo equipment, dusted underneath it all, put un-used DVDs in cabinet and put Wii equipment on shelves previously occupied by DVDs, scooped poop and began planning my road trip to visit my friend in Kansas and my sisters in Louisiana.
Today I reorganized bathroom chemicals, kitchen chemicals, bathroom toiletry cabinet and drawer/baskets, and the momentous job today was fixing the deplorable state of the first aid drawer. I put the various sizes of bandaids into separate baggies so the picky anti-sticker people can get the smallest one possible.
I am still refusing to turn on AC, so totally saved money today on electricity.
I walked the books to library. I asked the librarians how to park dog while I'm inside but they weren't very helpful.
Someboy can empty dishwasher tomorrow, and we can all clean our rooms tomorrow. Mine is a little bit more tricky, and we really need to go through their toys and figure out what to put away for a while. I started cleaning mine today. I went thru the bookshelves to figure out what needed to be moved. Next I need to file the important papers and stuff. The file cabinet is surprisingly light considering how stuffed it is.
At least I have a plan. I can't believe how hot and sweaty it is. I wonder how long we last tomorrow. It feels like 80 now and it's supposed to reach 88 tomorrow. I doubt I make the boys languish without the AC on. I doubt I have the patience to have them home and be hot and gritty all day.
