something wonderful is going to happen

Wow it is Monday again. How did that happen? Seriously. What a quick week it was.

Lets see. What did I even do?

Oh Greek Fest! Greek Fest is J's and my anniversary. I think the actual date is the 14th but I always just think of it as Greek Fest because that's where we met. It was an amazing night, some ways better than others. This particular one was nothing special, because J. is in Earthquake Country. Our friends called me up and asked if I wanted to go anyway, so I met them on Friday and had a gyro, then on Saturday I brought the boys and we had baklava ice cream sundaes and multiple cans of Sprite.

So anyway this past week he's been in Fresno at what first he thought was a fire chief conference but then ended up being some kind of training but that's less important than the fact that he got to go to Fresno and see some old friends and then later he drove out to San Francisco which is where his heart lives, I think. All the pictures he sent via cell phone had the biggest smile.

Yay, look I'm in California taking pictures with trees!

And Butter!

(At the Univ. of Fresno or Whatever that University is Called,
they make their own butter and stuff. )

Meanwhile it was hot in our neck of the woods...
 Snoopy thinks it's hot.

In this photo is a tiny red dot which is Logan.

Our Big Brudder is learning to drive. After Driver's Ed, we picked him up, and he likes to drive places now so he drove us to the music store he wanted to visit, so then, Logan and I were left hanging because it didn't make sense to leave him an hour or more while we went grocery shopping without him. We went in the music store for a little bit but L. was wound up pretty tight and kept touching the musical instruments and the sheet music books and wanting me to buy the sheet music book by Taylor Swift.

Why, I said, why should I do that?
Cause she's hot, he said.
No, hotness is not a good reason to buy this book of sheet music.

So L. and I left the store and walked over to this park which is across the street from the music store. About halfway up the little driveway to the park, I told L.,

run! So he started running across the field. Running them has always been a great way to help them unwind. He got way up to the top of the hill and then he took off his shoes and ran down the hill. He thought he was going to fall, he was running so fast, but he didn't.

Also during the week, Mr. C. woke up one day with this:

This totally freaked me out. It looked like it was getting bigger and bigger as I sat there watching it.

I administered Benadryl and called the phone nurse at our ped's office. She said give him Benadryl. Then I said I was thinking about putting an ice pack on it (as I was filling a baggie with frozen corn) and she thought that was a good idea too.

Yeah. I'm not a doctor.

Benadryl didn't help either, he just fell asleep around noon and slept on the eye, and it was just as puffy as it was that morning. That evening I gave him a Zyrtec because my sister Becca thought that would be the way to go. Two days later it was perfectly normal.

Yesterday I went to my neighbor's house and he is a Games Enthusiast. He has tiny little mini war guys and cajun monsters with pigs and stuff which he handpaints and builds backdrops for them. I got to use a hot wire tool to carve some styrofoam. The fumes were probably toxic. But I made a great hill.

Also last week I learned about Chocolate Gravy. As a Southerner with a capital S, I think I know about food eaten in the South, however, Chocolate Gravy seems to have missed us. Oh well. I have no desire to eat Chocolate Gravy, manly because I would have to make biscuits to eat it with, and truly, once I've made biscuits, I then eat the biscuits with a little bit of butter. I'm not going to make biscuits.
