Mr. C. draws a cat.

Mr. C. drew a cat today. First he was drawing our cat, but she doesn't really pose, so he began to draw something even more interesting.
I think it's amazing. Of course I do. What I love is, it looks nothing like anything I've seen lately.

In other news I pinched my finger with the handle part of the needle nose pliers while I was trying to open my Cajun Shrimp toenail polish. I was so shocked I dropped the pliers on the floor, but then I was pretty satisfied in spite of the pinch because the bottle was open. But I think there's gonna be a bruise.

In even better news, the big guy's girlfriend brought over a cardboard box full (bigger than a breadbox) of thin mint cookies. Her grandma works for the company that makes the Girl Scout ones. It was/is still quite awe inspiring.  For the record these showed up this afternoon, under-cover in a cardboard-bigger-than-a-bread-box straight from the local manufacturing facility bearing no identifying marks.

They're in the freezer, which isn't going to stop me.

I have been sitting at the computer clicking the refresh button all day on the substitute job system and so far nothing. With my luck I'll get some kind of grand month-long job and show up and they'll tell me they want me to trade for a half day assignment wrangling the high school seniors again.

I do have a job on Feb. 10th though. And this Friday's payday.

I was supposed to go to lunch with my friend Maggie today but she had to do something at work.
That's okay, it's all slushy out today, the snow blades have been out there pushing snow around all day but still it looks pretty slippish.

The district did not have school today and I was blessed with an extra morning and afternoon with the boys because the dad left them here and the grandparents didn't feel like coming out to get them or something. The dad fetched them up at about 4 something. Does that mean he gets off work at 4-ish every day? So I wonder what he is doing every Monday and Tuesday and every other Friday after school while the kids are with their grandparents till after dinner? (Just sayin'.)

Today we watched a lot of TV and ate junk. Over half the calories I've consumed today were just absolute crap. But that's okay. I shoveled snow, I jog, and I don't eat much other than vegetables and chicken and eggs and ultragrain tortillas and that light bread.  It really isn't hard to stick to the 1200 calorie diet. A tiny bit of cheese and jalapeno flavored bacon bits makes anything taste delicious.

My toenails are gonna look great once I get all this excess polish off the ends of my toes. Which hopefully just comes off in the shower because I'm not in the mood to do anything about it today.

I found a fun colorful crochet blog called Attic 24 and the girl is in England somewhere. I have read lots of her blog posts and in my head I have developed a lilting English Accent for her voice...  which makes me want clotted cream and scones. Once I had some clotted cream in a Christmas gift and made some scones. I have the best scone recipe from a baking cookbook. I use the food processor and it works great.

and she has all sorts of easy crochet tutorials. So I'm using one of her blanket patterns to make a scarf. So far I have about 6 inches done. It might take a zillion years because it is striped in about 6 different colors plus whatever remnants I have that would make another color... I can't carry that many balls of yarn around with me. I mean, I could, but there's never a guarantee of that much time to crochet.

I have to go now, I got a job across town again at that same school as last week only it's just one day in special ed. I love special ed. so this should be fun. Unless I get sent home again.
