I am making Logan a turtle. He says it with a fake accent, so it comes out of his mouth sounding like "tow-tow". So far I have the little feet crocheted, the top and bottom of the shell and the face. Need a tail now. Then stuff it and sew it together and embroider some sort of shell design on the top. I roughly used this pattern from Lion Brand yarns. You might have to create an account to view the free patterns but they are all really good and worth signing up. I took some pictures of the process...I added a lot more details than the pattern calls for.
I embroidered a box turtle pattern on the shell, and crocheted an additional row of black stitches along one side so the neck would have a place to protrude from.
The sun was shining this morning, then it was cloudy out. Around 2 I noticed the sun came out!
J. came over while I was working yesterday and cleaned my apartment. It was all warm and bleach-y in here when I got home from my half day at the high school. He takes great pride in his cleaning skills. It's very romantic.
We watched the (very old) movie Big last night which was good, I didn't really like the sexual innuendos though. I mean, he's 13 and has an adult size body and in a few scenes his girlfriend and he at least do some making out, but when he makes his wish to go home, then she drives him home and he becomes a kid again and it totally grossed me out.
So I will change the subject.
I like my new yarn. It was cheap and the colors aren't exactly what I would have chosen if other colors had been available, but for 12 bucks I think I'm pretty happy.

I think "Big" is funny the first time you see it, but then you remember he is a "kid" and the stuff with the gal is just sorta creepy. I'm with ya on that.
CUTE turtle! Boy, you ARE productive these days!
