reflections

Today I had my first evaluation from the supervising teacher. (Different from the seminar teacher and the co-operating teacher... I have three people to whom I report.) And I appear to be more uptight than she is? You need to relax a little, you're being too uptight, she said. Well. I'm relaxed yet vigilant? Would that work to say something like that? I just smiled and said Thank you. Anyway I see no problem with being uptight because at least I will have all my little cute duckies in a row at the end of this.

Student teaching is so much fun, I have really enjoyed my students and the classes I'm teaching so far, and the fast approaching It-Is-February-I-Teach-Everything is not bothering me much. Can I just student teach forever? Can I assist? Today I have a sub here staying with me and it feels like she's babysitting me, but I am not saying that in a bad way, only that I'm the one here to teach and she's having a nice relaxing half day of getting paid to do lunch duty and take attendance for me. Very nice! But it works. I'm just a baby teacher so far.
