He is also astonishingly good at drawing!
Both of those are all freehand. I'm really quite proud of him!
The little boys made paintings which we hung up in their room. Mom brought some letters she made that spell their names. The big boy made a painting which was somewhat fingerpainting. But that's okay. Mom got him a sketch book and he made the above sketches.
You may or may not remember this little birdie.
This is how she ended up. (That spotty one is behind her.) I liked the square canvas. But then I tried to make the square canvas look more like cement. I added some blues and some brown and all this other paint and suddenly it was way too pretty to stick a bunch of fake grass and a sharpie bird on there. I'm still playing with the square canvas. The sharpie bird and fake grass got glued to the little McCrafty canvas and I think it turned out pretty good. I ModPodged them on there! Then I made (sort of) a cement texture, very subtle, but still there, with the ModPodge and a paint brush and then patted it all over to make texture with a plastic garbage bag.

I really like the effect you are creating on the square canvas. I love to watch works in progress so I will be curious why you do with it next.
