weekend update

We've already been sledding and it's only Saturday now.
We went last night.

Mr. C. is pretty sure he can snow-board. The little blue saucer sled is the fastest in my opinion. I went sledding too. I wasn't going to but I did anyway. I went on the long sled with Mr. C. At one point Log was carrying Patches up the hill because he thought she would sled down with him (she didn't think that was a great idea) and Mr. C. and I were plummeting directly at them and I almost peed  a little bit. Then C. leaned over and put one leg out and we turned. I didn't know he knew how to steer. Sledding in general was surprisingly fun especially when we rolled over and I smashed him. He yelled "You smushed my apple!" because he had a bunch of oranges and apples in his pocket so he would have a snack. This was the one who whined the most when we said, "No we are going home, not McDonalds," at the end of the night. Hello Mr. Apple Pockets. Running up the hill was fun at the time. Then I was exhausted to the point of imagining the ensuing heart attack. But I think that a lot.

Tonight I am working because my friend (one of the managers) asked me to work 6-9 and she said she'd take the little boys to a movie. I really didn't want to work. But it's only 3 hours. That's like, twenty whole dollars. Much less than I make for 3 hours in any of my other three jobs. She said the only reason she's not working is it's her day off and she's on salary. I should quit that job, I haven't worked there for weeks and don't even care. Except I love helping people find books. Seriously, it's like a little exciting adventure.

Since I won't be home tonight I am making pulled pork in the slow cooker. Since I hate bottled BBQ, I made this recipe for BBQ Sauce and I'm licking it off the plate. Not even kidding. I used the little chopped dried onions because I forgot I had frozen onions and they're like candy. I had some chicken and I put it in that recipe for pulled pork (sans pork) to marinade. I am eating it with the BBQ sauce.  Literally not sure I can quit eating it long enough to actually put the BBQ sauce in that recipe with the pork, which is why I made the sauce. It's in the slow cooker. If I run out I can always make some more except there is not any ketchup left.

My cat has some kind of dermatitis on her back, and I swear to Sweet Baby Jesus we do not have fleas, my rationale on that is, duh, my white bellied dogs do not have visible fleas. If we had fleas, those dogs would be the first to reveal the fleas/flea dirt. So I have been treating poor kitty and petting her and loving her and now, suddenly I am noticing this thing on my finger and thinking, "Ugh. Please tell me I did not get some kind of cat disease on my finger."

But maybe I touched something stickery last night when I sledded.
Seriously it looks like cold sores under the skin of my flipping middle finger. Not quite what kitty has. What kitty has looks like flea bite dermatitis, which like I said, is marginally possible but I just can't concede to that.
Just what I needed.

Dogs on the Couch

These dogs are stinky. I just got them all excited about getting a bath. They don't know what I'm talking about but they're very excited. Not for long.
