I keep refreshing the automated substitute teacher searcher thingy but so far nothing. I'd love a second-half of the day job. I have one Friday for the teacher I student taught for. Speaking of student teaching, there were a lot of kids on the band trip who were 8th graders with me last year in TAG art. This made for some interesting conversations because, well, over the summer they grew a little, and they had on band uniforms instead of recognizable clothes, and their hair was all slicked back. So I sort-of recognized them.
They mostly recognized me.
So one of the conversations was
Little Sister: "I did clay in art last week." (talking to her big sister, who was talking with my son and me)
Big Sister: "So?"
LS: "Well it was messy, like in 8th grade."
Me: (Lightbulb!) Yeah remember how it splashed all over the_________?"
LS: "Yeah!"
Me: blah blah blah as I tried to remember events from last year and pottery specific to her, which I sort of didn't, although I really was happy to see her.
I wish I could train the sub-finder to refresh itself and then blink when there were jobs available. Then I wouldn't have to click back from one tab to another.
I massacred the Raisin Bran bag. That's gonna be great, flakes in the bottom of the box.
Okay really if there aren't any sub jobs yet there probably won't be any. It's 9:27. This morning the coffee maker was just recirculating. The arm in the coffee making area was aimed over the reservoir instead of over the basket. I was in another room listening to it go and go and bitch and moan and sneeze and snort and so I went into the kitchen, peeked at the coffee maker, and lo and behold, totally just shooting heated water back into the water vat. Problem. But not a big one. Just so you know, it doesn't make coffee like that.
I think I'll go help J. rake his leaves. Again. It's always more fun the 2nd or 3rd time around when they're from the neighbor's trees.
