...was... I had an outfit all ready. Like, stunning, black heels, a black tank with a sheer black flowery top to go over it, and I was going to curl my hair and everything. And he quick was going to run to the post office after his hair cut, and he called and thought he'd drive by to pick me up and it did not occur to me I would not get back to my own place to get dressed. He called and asked "How long for you to get ready?" and I said "Five minutes?" and dried my hair and went out to sit on the porch and read a book in regular sneakers and jeans and a shirt with stupid pink and green stars on it, and a grey tee-cardigan thingy. And waited and waited and waited. Thank heaven I actually did dry my hair. We were also going to run up to the pediatrician and grab the boys' prescription after the post office etc. etc. etc. and we were up on his side of town and I was like, wellll, I should get dressed now, and he said "Well we wouldn't have time to run all the way back to your place, didn't you pack your clothes???" And I was like, well, no, I did not know that was the plan, it never occurred to me we just weren't going back to my house after getting the prescription, which we never even got. I don't even remember what we did do but it involved not doing anything I needed to do. Yeah. It was fine, I looked great. This town is not really with-it anyway as far as dressy occasions. In Louisiana we would have been
Dressed Up to See Elton John. Here, we just got dressed.
In other news I made this:
This is how it looked at 12:30 today.
And here we are at around 8 PM.
Hooray for the school carnival. This is by far my best effort. Way better than the home-made face paint.
