the day after Christmas

Merry Christmas everybody.

I was really busy going everywhere else.
How come some people get to stay home and other people have to go elsewhere? I hope one day I have the stay home type of house.

My birthday and Christmas were fun and interesting and exhausting. My friends made my birthday super special. One friend and I were trying to go out for a beverage before she had to be at church, so we drove all over town and finally on our way home realized a bar a few blocks from our neighborhood was open. We went in and had a great conversation with a WWII vet.

Then we had to go because she had to be at church in 15 minutes so I grabbed my kids from her house and we went to my other friend's house and they made tamales and fajitas and it was wonderful. It reminded me of having tamales at my Gam's when I was little.

Then for Christmas the boys opened their gifts from me on Christmas Eve night when we got home from my birthday party. And. Went to bed exhausted, woke up, played a little they went with their dad, I wanted to go back to bed but instead I went back to my friend's house and crocheted a little, cooked a little, the boys were delivered by their dad in time to have dinner with us. Other people did the dishes. I came home and put everyone to bed and slept.

This morning I am just vegetating. Someone made popcorn. My house is an absolute wreck. I think I will think about having them shove all the crap on the living room floor off to one side so we can see what is going on. My oldest picked up the wrapping paper, I think, and ran the dishwasher. The little boys have alternately been fighting and eating popcorn and playing the Wii Santa brought. (No, I did not buy it, some friends gave them their used one and told me to tell them it was from Santa.)

Enjoy the wreck. It will be over before you know it. Our house is all cleaned up. How I miss the chaos.
