but there were less people for them to talk to.
I explained my expectations, I somehow became eloquent enough. Actually in one of my classes that was getting loudish, I turned to them and just as the principal was sticking his head in the door, my brain flipped on and I explained exactly what we were going to do, we are going to put the glue away neatly, we are going to draw two lines on the paper with the ruler.... he paused for a few seconds but I barely even saw him, then he moved on down the hall.
Of course it helped that he popped in and they all immediately chilled at the same time as I was noticing him, and at the same time as I was quickly thinking.
I am so tired. I will be so glad when I get accustomed to being "on" all day.
In other news it does not seem fair that I only have 40-ish minutes a day to plan for 11 different classes full of 304 students. Well, I guess it's really just six different classes, 304 students, spread out over 11 periods in a two-day span of time. I spend way more time than that and I don't get paid for it. Not that you could tell I have plans just by looking! I do though, I have a binder with weekly plans for day to day, I have the lesson plans, which sort of cover several days at a time, since a project takes a while. I need a chart .... lots of charts. I need one that says "8th period, put the chairs up before the bell rings." I need the chart with the rules. Ugh.
My battery is running out. Literally & figuratively.
