J. is on his way back up to Mayo to get his catheter out. I hope his incision feels better soon. At least now he will be able to drive legitimately, so I will not have to insist on driving, and he can just stop telling me when I can change lanes, that we're "clear right" and when I can go at the intersection, when I can merge, etc. ... I really should feel grateful that he does these things. It isn't that I mind HIM specifically, it's just that at age 38 I have been driving successfully all this time and have only wrecked one car. That happened when I was really young, and the guy who had the car decided on NOT telling his parents it was me. He said he swerved to avoid a deer. That poor kid. It totally wasn't his fault, but generally when I have made driving mistakes, it has been with a man in the passenger seat urging me to ignore my instincts. That being said, I've also never had a speeding ticket or any type of moving violation. I'm a great driver and I hate being told how to drive and that is the end of my rant on this subject.
Tonight is back to school night and I hate filling out all that paperwork in the hot cafeteria. I'll be glad when the kids all go to air conditioned schools.
